SSS Day 9: Singh, Kochhar, Gupta seize the day!

The exciting Spartan Super Series (SSS) on Spartan Poker for the month of March is nearing its end. The tournament series that spread across 11 days, guaranteed INR 7+ Crore and a fascinating Leaderboard too. Last night halted with another successful 6 events with The Elite – Highroller INR 55 Lakhs GTD being the biggest attraction of the night. And here is a complete summary of SSS Day 9…

SSS #46 INR 1.5 Lakhs GTD

The first tournament of the day kicked off at 12 pm, eventually registering a total of 387 entries who paid INR 550 individually. The advertised guarantee was surpassed and INR 1.93 Lakhs in prize pool was created to be shared among the top 31 finishers. Capturing the first title was ‘neatvat’ after the players settled for a 4-way deal which saw ‘AlienAlbratoss’ in the runner-up position.

SSS #47 Afternoon Showdown INR 2 Lakhs GTD

With a buy-in of INR 660, a total of 359 entrants pounced on the field that led to the creation of the bigger prize pool of INR 2.15 Lakhs. Topping the list was ‘Fishonthetable’ seizing the winner’s prize money after the players agreed to settle for a 3-way deal which ultimately saw ‘Ak82’ in the second position.

SSS #48 Afternoon Hi-Fi INR 3 Lakhs GTD

A total of 433 runners entered the field after each paid INR 1,100 buy-in to hunt for the Afternoon Hi-Fi title. Once again, it was the anonymous SSS Day 8 winner ‘Vodafone77’ to take home the champion’s title along with the first-place cash prize after the players settled for a heads-up deal. The official winner was followed by ‘lastball6’ in the second place.

SSS #49 Dominator INR 6 Lakhs GTD

At 7 pm on Friday night, Dominator, one of the three feature tourneys on Spartan Poker kicked off. The entire tournament garnered a total of 341 entries after each paid INR 2,200. Capturing the first-place prize money was Deepak Singh aka ‘Optimist’ who took home the title along with the cash prize while his opponent ‘Speedpost09’ earned the second place payout.

SSS #50 TGIF INR 12 Lakhs GTD

This is one of the popular Friday tourneys and last night the action kicked off at 8 pm sharp. The event recorded a massive field of 1,095 entries after each paid INR 1,650. Conquering the field was Arjun Kochhar who secured the first place after eliminating circuit regular Laksh Pal Singh in heads-up. To read more, click here.

SSS #51 The Elite – Highroller INR 55 Lakhs GTD

One of the major attraction last night was The Elite – Highroller assuring INR 55 Lakhs in prize pool. This was the final tournament on SSS Day 9 and a total of 320 runners joined the field after paying INR 27,500 buy-in. This number led to creation of a massive prize pool of INR 80 Lakhs from which the top 31 players benefited. Riding past the field was a prominent figure in the industry, Madhav Gupta aka ‘Madzoopa’ pocketing a 7-digit figure while his opponent’ TiltAtma’ seized the second place payout.
