It was a long and tiring Spartan Super Series (SSS) wherein players sacrificed plenty of hours of sleep each week, but some of them were heavily rewarded for the same. Over the course of seven days, INR 4.5+ crore was given away in guaranteed prizes on The Spartan Poker in one of India’s most successful online poker series.
This weekend, we reached the end of another SSS series. As usual, Spartan rewards those who are the most consistent throughout the series with the SSS Leaderboard, where this time, INR 10 lakh was set aside in guaranteed prizes which includes INR 4 lakh reserved for the leaderboard topper.
Only those among the best can come out and win SSS titles and it takes even better players to be consistent and win the SSS Leaderboard. The last SSS Leaderboard was won by Sumit Sapra aka ‘mrgr33n’ while the SSS leaderboard prior to that was topped by Anirban Das aka ‘pokernoob’.
This time, it was none other than Rajesh Kumar Shukla who topped the SSS Leaderboard, winning the top prize of INR 4 lakh. Consistency is key and that’s what he had during this series, playing under the username ‘Narammasala’. He played 34 out of the 37 tournaments on the SSS schedule. He cashed in 19 of them, Final Tabled 9 of them and won one title as well. How’s that for a good series?
Gutshot caught up with Shukla after this victory. He said, “The Spartan Poker has always been a great platform to play massive GTD events like SSS and IOPC. This is extremely motivating for me and I am looking forward to grind more and more on Spartan. It was extremely challenging to keep the position at first. I think for the last 2 days ‘pokernoob’ and ‘BlueLays’ were my toughest competitors; they both played really great.”
