Teun Mulder leads MCOP Main Event Final Table

The Master Classics of Poker (MCOP) is underway at the Holland Casino in Amsterdam, from Nov 21 and will go on till Dec 1. The 11-day festival has an abundance of events lined up for the pleasure of the players.

The MCOP Main Event began on Nov 23 and saw its Final Table of 9 emerge yesterday, out of 36 qualifiers that progressed to Day 2. The tournament had a buy-in of EUR 4,300 (~INR 3.41 Lakhs) and attracted a total playing field of 293 entries, including 27 fresh entries on Day 2. Top 44 players are getting paid out in the Main Event.

Teun Mulder is the chip leader amongst the 9 Final Table players with a chip stack of 2,075,000. The Dutchman mostly made money playing online cash games but also has a few live appearances in his record as well.

Mulder started his live career in 2017, coming 4^th in the WSOP International Circuit Main Event held in Rotterdam, though his biggest live cash win was finishing 74^th at partypoker MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona in April of this year, where he won $43,177. Coming back to the MCOP Main Event, the first-prize cash money of EUR 240,183 (INR 1.90 Crores) has all the 9 players hooked onto it.

Winning for Mulder won’t be easy, for the second in chip lead, Kilian Kramer, isn’t that far behind with 2,020,000 chips. Following Kramer are Danilo Velasevic (1,180,000) and the previous EPT Prague winner Jasper Meijer van Putten (1,170,000). Another local celebrity Alberto Stegeman is also in the mix with his 14 big blinds ranked at 7^th. The man is somewhat of a sensation in Netherlands, having his own investigative journalism show on television.

Max Lehmanski, the chip leader entering Day 3 with 696,000 chips, got eliminated in 13^th place. Other pros to get eliminated were Germany’s Jan Eric Schwippert at 12^th and two-time partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK winner Steve O’Dwyer at 27^th.

The final day, i.e. today, will resume at 3pm local time and the Final Table players will make their entrance to their respective favourite songs, as has been the tradition in Holland Casino.
