‘thanx4allfish’ ships IOPC Big Daddy; wins Goa Package

The Spartan Poker launched another edition of the prestigious India Online Poker Championship (IOPC), offering a record-breaking INR 7+ crore in guaranteed prizes between 13-22 July. Yesterday was Day 3 of the series and it being a Sunday, some of the best online poker tournaments were hosted.

One such event was IOPC Event #13 Big Daddy INR 10 Lac GTD (1100 RE) which was the third IOPC tournament of the day and it kicked off at 4pm IST. Those who play online regularly would know the specialty of this tournament – the winner takes home his tournament winnings and also a fully paid trip to the Big Daddy Casino in Goa, worth INR 30,000.

A field of 1,041 entries registered to yesterday’s Big Daddy tournament, which beat the guarantee and a new prize pool of INR 10.41 lakh was created. The top 87 players were paid out a minimum cash prize of INR 3,227 but the one who walked away with the free package trip to Goa was ‘thanx4allfish’, who wished to stay anonymous after this win.

The Big Daddy tournament’s guarantee was doubled for the IOPC so thanx4allfish took home a handsome pay-check of INR 1,99,351, in addition to the Goa package trip. This player beat ‘Shekhar’s’ in heads-up, who also won over a lakh rupees for finishing second – INR 1,24,087.

The tournament was in Level #50 and the blinds were at 100,000/200,000 – 20,000 when the final hand of the tournament was played, with thanx4allfish holding a 2:1 chip lead. With A-5, thanx4allfish went all-in before seeing the flop and Shekhar’s happily made the call, with pocket sevens. The board opened Ac 3d 8s Qc Jh, and thanx4allfish hit a pair of Aces immediately, while his opponent couldn’t improvise on his pair of sevens.
