WSOP 2020: Raman Afanasenka Grabs His First Bracelet in Event 11


The flagship 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online that is usually held in Rio-All Suites has been postponed until the fall instead players are now grabbing the prestigious gold bracelet online on WSOP.com (31 bracelet events)and GGpoker (54 bracelet events). On Saturday, Event #11: $500 NLHR Turbo Deepstack was triumphed by Raman “Acrogum” Afanasenka who eliminated four of the final five players to capture his first gold bracelet and $128,601 in top prize!

The 11th bracelet event attracted 1,081 entries resulting in the creation of $760,950 prize pool. The top 248 players grabbed a share after Ryan “LoveMy11Cats” bubbled the tournament. Some of those who walked out with a paycheck were Mike “mouth123” Matusow (131st – $989), Robert “bustinballs” Kuhn (99th – $1,141), Ryan “protential” Laplante (69th – $1,597), Larry “lormson” Ormson (48th – $2,206), Jesse “MrJesseJames” Sylvia (40th – $2,587), Michel “miguelfiesta” Lech (16th – $4,793), and Kami “Loco4coco” Hudson (8th – $12,936).

Afanasenka began the FT as the chip leader but he had to face three bracelet winners, including two-time winner Chance “BingShui” Kornuth. It was Erica “Huckcheevers” Lindgren to walk out in 6th place followed by Neeraj “nee0903” Nayak. Bracelet winner David “Twizzlers” Prociak was Afanasenka’s next victim. After Brett “Metanemesis” Apter went out in 3rd place, heads-up play began between Raman “Acrogum” Afanasenka (43 million) and Chance “BingShui” Kornuth (24 million).

Kornuth limped with Kc 6c and Afanasenka moved all-in with 3h 3s and the former called. Flop Ah Kd 6d proved beneficial for Kornuth. With As on turn and 3c on river the game changed and that’s when Belarus’ Afanasenka claimed the first prize and his career-first gold bracelet!
