WSOPE: Asi Moshe wins Event #9: €1,650 PLO/NLH Mix

So far the WSOP Europe at King’s Casino has been the greatest challenge for poker enthusiasts competing neck to neck. The series has been immensely successful, awarding the worthy winners an enormous sum of prize money. Such was the scenario yesterday at the Event #9: €1,650 Pot-Limit Omaha/No-Limit Hold’em Mix when Asi Moshe took his 4th bracelet home.

The tournament attracted a total of 279 entries, all chipping in €1,650 buy-in. But only 56 managed to survive throughout the severe battle. Undoubtedly, this year has brought Moshe his greatest accomplishment in winning the WSOP gold bracelet. His last win was at the 2019 WSOP Bounty, Las Vegas. In addition, he also took down the 2019 WSOPE 6-Max Deepstack Event.

The second flight began with Day 1 chip leader Shahaf Nacson sitting with Moshe, the former eventually falling at 41st place. Gradually, the final hand of the tournament arrived, Moshe playing against Kristoffer Rasmussen heads-up. The former holding jack-ten got a call from his opponent holding queen-jack. Flop had a queen and Moshe turned a straight Rasmussen to the runner-up position.

With 42 players receiving payouts of minimum cash €2,392, after the bubble burst the elimination was rapid including 6-times bracelet winner Chris Ferguson (9th, €6,893), bracelet winner Ismael Bojang (21st, €3,116), 6-time bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro (24th, €3,116), 4-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb (26th, €2,699), 6-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu (37th, €2,392). In addition to this, the only Indian in the money Ankit Ahuja second in chip lead on Day 1, managed to secure 16th position for €3,678.

Event #8: €25,500 Platinum High Roller No-Limit Hold’em

Day 2 of Platinum High Roller saw 6 players making it through the day, each one is guaranteed at least €95,962. It was Kahle Burns leading with an enormous 33,650,000 chip followed by the current WSOP Main Event champion, Hossein Ensan with 22,000,000 chips.

Nevertheless, the tournament was fierce and several of them couldn’t make it to the showdown include 6-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, 10-times bracelet winner, and Day 1 chip leader Phil Ivey, 15-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, followed by past Main Event champion Ryan Reiss and so on.

Event #10: €25,500 Mixed Games Championship; POY Contenders in the Mix

Jammed with bracelet winners, the 10^th event saw Benny Glaser closing the race with 2,475,000 followed by Ivo Donev bagging 2,422,000 chips. Day 1 registered a small number of 26 players, entering for a buy-in of €25,500, as the event progressed only 21 managed to survive.

Other notables through to Day 2 in a field filled with big names are bracelet winner Sam Higgs (1,606,000) followed by another bracelet winner Joao Vieira (1,565,000), Dzmitry Urbanovich (1,394,000), 2-times bracelet winner David “ODB” Baker (1,325,000), 6-times bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro (1,170,000), Dario Sammartino (1,001,000) 4-times bracelet winner Shaun Deeb (221,000) and so on.
